THE PROCESS
STEP ONE: "The Touchpoint"
Each book project begins with a meeting between the designer and the client. This touchpoint establishes the project's scope and explores the desired look and feel of the book. During this meeting, I verify any specific details or requests the client wishes to include.
STEP TWO: "The Sketches"
In this phase, I create 3–5 cover sketches with supporting design briefs based on our discussed parameters. I then receive feedback and direction, which helps narrow down the options before moving on to digital concepts.
STEP THREE: "The Concepts"
At this stage, the concepts and supporting briefs are sent to the client for review and feedback. After receiving the client's input, the book design undergoes up to two more rounds of revision to finalize the chosen option.
STEP FOUR: "The Cover-Spine-Back"
Cover-Spine-Back (C1-C4): Once the final cover is chosen, I will begin laying out the back cover and spine content to reflect the theme of the selected cover design.
STEP FIVE: "The Interior"
After the final cover has been established, I will begin laying out the interior copy in InDesign, following any design parameters for font scale, typeface, and margins.
STEP SIX: "The Final Review"
Once the interior and full book cover are finalized, they will go to the client for final review. Afterward, the project will be sent to the typesetter for final formatting before being shipped to the printer.

STEP SEVEN: "The File Export"
While the book is being prepared for shipping, I create a package of digital design files for the agency's marketing department. This includes Amazon images, digital ads, and web graphics to showcase their new product.
